This safari like expedition is an epic journey out to one of the most rural beaches as well as one of only 4 of it’s kind known to man on the planet.
A rugged off road 4×4 adventure through rugged cliff lines and deserted dessert like landscapes of grassy knolls and sand dunes. Experience a world famous cliff jumping spot into over 50 feet deep crystal clear water on the most southern tip of the united states where colorful reefs and flourishing marine life bring humpback whales within a short swimming distance to the cliffs. Hidden gems rich with old Hawaiian history and culture can be found along this rare experience to the far reaches of the Big Island of Hawaii.
PICK UP 9PM Beautiful scenic drive along the southern coastline. Old coffee plantations, Macadamian nut orchards and jagged cliff lines. While passing through small towns on the way to Waiohinau large ranch lands of cow pastures and old detieriating rough water cattle ports from a time not so long ago. *Upon request a stop at the famous Naalehu sweet bread factory can always be enjoyed while trying some of their delicious pastries. The road down to the most southern tip of the Islands is carved out from intense year round winds bending native trees to grow curved and sideways against the stunning scenic backdrop. Rugged cliffs and crystal clear deep waters have chosen this spot for it's famously known cliff jump at the end of the world. Looking out to what looks like the edge of an endless horizon with the island curving on both side is one of the many breath taking moments this place has to offer. At certain times of year with water depths so deep and so close to land theres been numerous sightings of whales from behind a random swimmers mask and clenched snorkel. Cliff jumping, exploring sea caves, catching fotos in front of towering cliff lines in front of deserted and hard to reach white sand coves. A gem in it's own. The next duration of this trip includes rough off road 4x4 exploring. An adventure across a desolate landscape of dunes and rugged coastline, old cattle fences and endless stories of an old fisherman. Views that seem to be always stretching out to the deepest blue sea. PAPAKOLEA is a rare find. Carved from an old volcanic cone from years of powerful surf, stormy seas and seasonal down pours. Swimming with the occasional local sea turtle, body surfing, making emerald sea castles or exploring the coastline can all be done in this beautiful gem of a spot. On the way home we will stop by Punaluu Beach where the Green Sea Turtles nest and some local fisherman spend their days casting pole for reef fish and teaching the young ones how to throw a net. Return time is usually 6-7pm (unless requested earlier)
