Along this full day adventure we will have options to explore all the hidden gems of Lower Puna. Lava Tree park, The Old Kings Trail, natural thermal heated tide pools, Green Mountain, Uncle Roberts Kawa bar, caves that open to the sea, freshly formed black sand beaches and so much more!
And of course, touch some the the youngest land known on this earth, gaze at the liquid magma formations and outbreaks stretching all the way down the Pu’u o’o vent to the ocean.

PICK UP TIME: 1PMThis exploration of Lower Puna, the red road and what once was a thriving small town called Kalapana. Optional destinations along the way. . .-Green Mountain -Thermal tidal swimming pools -Old Kings High Way -Snorkeling In Kapoho Fish sanctuary -Kahena Black Sand beach -Old mango Groves -Lava Tubes that fall into the sea -Mckenzie park -Uncle Roberts Kava Bar and Hawaiian Sovereign Movement -ACTIVE LAVA FLOW Learn about some of the old Hawaiian myths, local history and strange stories of Puna. Because food is a big part of our culture we will also be sampling organic fresh fruits, local sweets and of course, a sip of the coconut. .. . . . WE will start our departure by foot out to the active lava flow in KALAPANA around 4PM. This gives us enough time to view some really stunning molten formations being created while the day light still lasts. We like to stay until dark to get the full effect of how beautiful and powerful our goddess Pele really is. Hike to lava R/T is roughly 5 MILES Walking on semi easy flat terrain and weather conditions have usually cooled by evening with beautiful ocean and volcano views along the way. Dinner is not provided but we do bring each person a light dinner/snack to enjoy after the hike with cold refreshments. All groups coming from Kona side of the Island will have options to do dinner at preferred restaurant in Pahoa or Hilo. HOME Return time is roughly 8:30-9PM for Hilo area drop-off. 11pm for Kona/Kohala drop off.

Kalapana lava flow is located in the Southern area of the Big Island. Other stops on this adventure are in the Puna coastal area's.
