Island Breeze is currently celebrating more than 20 years in Kona. Always a favorite of kama’ãina (locals), visitors and travel writers, the Island Breeze Lûau has been rated the best lû’au on the Big Island by readers of West Hawai’i Today since it’s polling began in 2000.
The Island Breeze Lû’au is held on the beachfront of historic Kamakahonu Bay and the grounds of Ahu’ena, Kamehameha the Great’s former estate at Kailua-Kona. A backdrop of passing fishing boats and paddlers in outrigger canoes, the lights of Kona and Mount Hualalai, all add to the charm of the lü’au.
Considered a “Royal Hawaiian Experience”, the lû’au features a Hawaiian buffet brimming with delicious fish, meat and fresh Big Island produce. Local favorites include lomi lomi salmon, poke and delicious Kalua pig cooked to perfection in an imu located right on the lû’au grounds. The lü’au meal is complimented by an open bar.
